Peace be with You

Jesus said, “Come to me all of you, who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest .”.
Matthew 11:28

Each week during the liturgy the Pastor tells us, “The Peace of Christ be with you.” We respond, “also with you.”

“Peace be w1th you.“ When sharing this peace in the community of the faithful during worship, I am aware of the simplicity and the awesomeness of the words.

In its simplicity, this shared greeting to one another is not only for the moment, or even the day or week. It is offered to each of us in the present, for whatever our particular needs or joys might be: a special graduation, meeting the needs of a suffering friend or neighbor, a leisurely cookout with family, a pending surgery.

It is a gentle reminder of God’s abiding love. It guides me to try to feel His Presence throughout the day and the week ahead in all places and at all times.

“Peace be with you” is an awesome message. It tells us that God has a place for each of us in His “house.” Through His grace He provides us a permanent “home.”

These words are a simple prayer from me to you and you to me, to share in the joys and needs of this moment in time and in the hope of His Eternal Kingdom full of joy and harmony, serenity an perfect peace.

Peace be with you!

Thank you father for providing us with the opportunity to share the awesome peace of Christ, a peace the world cannot give, a peace that is sure and certain . A peace we can trust in God’s grace to be sufficient for ever. amen
