"For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Romans 8:38-39
These are the words Paul wrote to the early Christians in Rome. He was inspired by God to write these words. They were written to give God1s people the confidence and courage to face the difficulties and dangers of following Christ in the early years of the church.
These are the words that I read to my son as he headed off to school two weeks ago. I was inspired by God to read him these words. I read them to give Matt the courage and confidence to face a new day after the shocking news of the death of his friend.
God also uses these words to inspire each of us to face the new day. He gives us the confidence and courage to face our own dangers and difficulties. He gives us the reassurance that we who put our faith in Christ Jesus cannot be separated from the love of Almighty God.
Lord, continue to inspire us with your Holy Word. Help us to turn to You and Your Word when we are faced with pain and suffering in our own lives. Give us the confidence and courage that come from the knowledge that we are Yours, and that nothing can separate us from Your love. Amen.
